It is vitally important to listen to music that uplifts us. When words and music are combined, I believe they express our deepest thoughts and feelings. What we can’t understand in words, we can understand in music. Words alone, many times, can’t express the true feelings that are meant, but music and words put together can touch the hearts and souls of people." Music is one of the few things that can help you escape your reality. No matter how bad things are, music has the potential to make you forget all about it. Music can spark any emotion. It can hold memories. It can tellstories. It will always be there. It will never vanish. It will always be life. You can’t touch music, but music can touch you.

Music has extraordinary power to evoke emotion
There is an inner connection between music and the spirit. When language aspires to the transcendent, and the soul longs to break free of the gravitational pull of the earth, it modulates into song. Music, said Arnold Bennett, is “a language which the soul alone understands but which the soul can never translate.” It is, in Richter’s words, “the poetry of the air.” Tolstoy called it “the shorthand of emotion.” Goethe said, “Religious worship cannot do without music. It is one of the foremost means to work upon man with an effect of marvel.” Words are the language of the mind. Music is the language of the soul.

The Power Of Music
The Power of Music Sometimes in life people grieve. People feel all kinds of emotions. Music is almost and emotion in itself. In my eyes music can be an escape for a minute or two. It can be for however long you desire. Music has been called a way of life for certain human beings. Somehow, it has made such a large influence on the world. I can think of many instances where music has impacted someone’s life in some significant way. It may be something such as a big decision, or even a small predicament. Musicians have the advantage of touching people with their lyrics or music; a gift some people will never be able to give as well, but most people have the chance to listen to the feeling and conviction put into musician’s work. Some of us have musical talent and others don’t, but those who do can share their emotions through an expression, so to speak. The way music effects our everyday lives can be almost incomprehensible at times. Music in today’s world has changed for the good and the bad. Today’s generation is different from yesterday’s therefore the music industry has changed for just that purpose. Music today accompanies youth, teens, and also young adults. There is a whole broad spectrum of how music has changed. It has change lyrically, financially, and overall music has changed in general. Music today is powerful and has a lot more meaning than just sounds and words. Music is so powerful that it has the power to manipulate and influence individuals in a positive or negative way. There is so much meaning behind music the lyrics nowadays. Music can tell an artist life story, things they have been through, and even their opinion on certain views. Artists take music more then just a way to get money (even though the money’s nice) but a tool to vent. Look at Eminem and the controversy and debate he’s caused just by a few simple words. I guess freedom of speech really has no meaning today, at least in music. Music is powerful because it can manipulate people for the good and the bad. It can change the way a person thinks and feels. After the columbine shooting, the media started to put the blame on Marilyn Manson and how his music has a negative. Music has always been a huge factor in my life. Not only does it serve as one of my greatest influences in the world, but it also defines who I am as a human being. It has helped mold me into the kind of person I am today, as well as the kind of person that I strive to become in the future. Music gives me the strength I need to push forward, to achieve my goals, and...
